Judging Criteria

Judging Criteria

The Global Awards has a judging panel consisting of experts in music, broadcasting and journalism, representing all the genres covered by the awards.

There are five categories of awards that will be open to public vote in phase 1. In these categories, the judging panel has selected a long list of 15 nominees. The top five artists/groups in each category, as voted for in phase one, will make it through to phase two of the voting, where the public can vote for the winner.

Nominees for a sixth award, the LBC award, will be collated from the public’s suggestions in phase one of the voting. The winner in this category will be chosen by the judging panel from all the nominations.

There are three further categories open to the public vote in phase 2. Here the judges will have selected 5 nominees from the long list of 15 nominees in phase 1, for the public to vote for the winner in phase 2.

Winners in the remaining categories will be chosen by the judging panel with due care, consideration and weight to a variety of factors.

Global reserves the right to substitute an alternative selection or voting method in its absolute discretion.

Eligibility for nomination is a record or artist/group that has been played at least once on any Global radio station from 12 December 2017 – 11 December 2018. For the LBC award, eligibility is decided by the public’s suggestions in phase one of the voting.
