New insights reveal rise of digital-only banking

Our latest work.shop.play. audience insight survey revealed the rise of digital-only banks such as Monzo, Starling and Chase with 51% now using a digital-only bank – an increase from 23% since our 2019 survey. Whilst just 12% put all, or most, of their monthly income into a digital-only bank account, this highlights that they are likely secondary accounts rather than main bank accounts for the majority. This is further supported by the main reasons for having a digital-only bank account being everyday spending, travel/holidays and savings. 51% trust digital-banks more, or the same, as traditional banks with the remaining 49% trusting them less which demonstrates there’s more work to be done in terms of building trust. You can do that with DAX: Case study and testimonial

We’re proud to offer local businesses access to DAX Audio, Global’s digital ad exchange, and give brands simple, powerful access to connected audiences and the digital audio market in a single buy. To showcase what’s possible, we’ve partnered with local brands already using DAX to create a series of educational case studies and testimonials called “You Can Do That With Dax”. Our first case study is for local broadband provider, Fibrus, with campaigns planned and bought by Genesis Belfast. Fibrus is a great example of how DAX can deliver hyper-local precision and help brands with unique geographic requirements achieve cut-through. Sports Direct mega store coming to Belfast City Centre

Sports Direct in Donegall Arcade, located in the heart of Belfast City Centre’s shopping district, is set to relocate with a mega glow up as it relocates to the former TK Maxx site within the arcade. The 30,000 sq ft ‘mega store’ will offer customers the world’s best sports and lifestyle brands, while also bringing other brands from Frasers Group’s ecosystem, including USC and GAME to the location. Donegall Arcade was first purchased by Mike Ashley’s Frasers Group in 2015. The new development will also see the former GAME store on Castle Place relocate inside the new mega store with US chicken fast food chain, Popeyes, rumoured to open their first city centre location in its place. The new store is set to open in December of this year, just on time for the Christmas rush.

Global’s Make Some Noise Day is back for 2025

Global’s Make Some Noise Day is back for 2025, taking place on Friday 10th October. Our Northern Ireland team have been busily hosting charity lunches, raffles, sweepstakes, fun runs and more to build our fundraising total this year which currently stands at over £800. On Make Some Noise Day itself our team will be celebrating by dressing loud with our theme ‘Clashing Catwalk’… think animal prints, sequins, polka dots, tartan. All kinds of fashion crimes will be committed! Last year Global’s Make Some Noise raised a whopping £3.8m to support small charities and change lives across the UK, including Northern Ireland. We’d love your support, any donation, no matter how small can help make a huge difference.
