work.shop.play. celebrates 10 years

2014 was the year of the Ice Bucket Challenge, TV show, “Friends”, turned 20, Pharrell’s “Happy” took over as the most popular song of the year, Jason Orange quit Take That… and work.shop.play. launched in Northern Ireland!

Launched on 8th March 2014, through incentivised surveys, Global’s work.shop.play. audience insight community provides exclusive insights into the behaviour, thoughts, and motivations of the outdoor advertising audience in Northern Ireland. To celebrate the milestone, members took a trip down memory lane and delved into the survey archives to answer questions that were asked in some of the very first surveys. The results of which have been turned into a new digital outdoor campaign called #TenAndNow.

This March all eyes are on bus

This month Global Northern Ireland will launch a brand-new bus advertising initiative aimed at developing advertiser understanding of the bus audience, whilst also showcasing the medium’s efficacy and ability to ignite action and drive response.

In a covert operation, we’ll be going undercover to decipher the movements of the bus audience in today’s evolved society. We’ll be asking those working, shopping and playing in Northern Ireland’s two largest cities to keep vigilant and help us retrieve the necessary evidence. Once all  T-Side tipoffs have been logged, and the data submitted by our Superside supersleuths has been interrogated, we’ll deliver a classified Audience Intelligence Report to approved advertiser personnel. Keep your eyes peeled!

Opinions on everything (including the kitchen sink!)

Our audience insight community regularly share their opinions with us on a wide range of topics.

Following CS Kitchen’s debut on Global’s new Digital 48 sheet in Belfast, along with the news that UK kitchen retailer, Wren Kitchens, is to open their first two Northern Ireland locations later this year, we asked our insight community what they look for in a kitchen retailer. 1in4 say they look for a timeless kitchen that’s good quality and made to stand the test of time. A locally based showroom (59%) topped the poll for most important factors when deciding on a kitchen retailer, followed by free, no obligation quotes (57%). Other influencing factors included the retailer being a local, Northern Ireland company and recommendations from friends and family.

Make Some Noise is back for 2024

Following 2022’s Noisy Neon Cycle and 2023’s Rowdy Rowing Challenge, our Northern Ireland Globallers are ready to do what it takes to fundraise for small charities as part of Global’s Make Some Noise in 2024.

The date for Make Some Noise Day 2024 has been announced as Friday 11th October 2024 and marks 10 years of Global’s grant-giving charity, changing lives and making incredible things happen. In 2023, Make Some Noise supported charities across the UK, including Northern Ireland charity, Autonomie who works with children and young people with physical and learning disabilities. Thank you to everyone who supported us in 2023. We hope you’ll support our efforts again this year. We’ll be in touch later in the year with more details.
