Insight & Intel: November 2024
Dreaming of a more sustainable Christmas?
Ahead of the busiest retail period of the year we asked our Northern Ireland audience insight community all about their shopping habits and intentions this Christmas. Whilst over half made a start on their Christmas shopping in October, or earlier, a third plan to make a start in November and 14% will wait until December. Impact of Christmas on the environment also appears to be more front-of-mind amongst audiences this year with 1in5 saying they have concerns around over consumption at Christmas. 18% said they would reduce the number of gifts they buy but not necessarily how much they spend and almost 1in10 will not send Christmas cards for the first time this year.

The chain currently has 17 stores in Northern Ireland and plans to open a further three in Belfast’s Lisburn Road, York Street and Forestside Shopping Centre. TK Maxx uses Street Hub to attract shoppers
National retailer, TK Maxx, recently relocated to a brand-new store within Belfast City Centre with Global’s Street Hub network raising awareness and directing shoppers to the new store. The new, larger store is set across 24,872 sq. ft. and houses fashion, accessories, beauty and home in a brighter store in the City’s CastleCourt Shopping Centre. With 20 Street Hub screens located across the City’s busiest streets they provided the ideal platform for TK Maxx to get right into the heart of the shopping action and inform savvy shoppers of the move. Global NI celebrates Make Some Noise Day 2024
On 11th October, Global Northern Ireland celebrated its 3rd Make Some Noise Day, helping raise money for small charities across the UK and Northern Ireland. Instead of a single challenge, 2024 saw us take on lots of smaller fundraising initiatives including a St. Patrick’s Day ‘Shillings for a Shindig’ event, Globaller Jenny ran the Comber 10k, whilst Globaller Jon completed the Mourne Seven Sevens Challenge. We also celebrated a Summer of Sport and hosted various ‘donate & dine’ office lunch fundraisers. Our efforts culminated in a Spooky Sports Day event with our collective efforts raising a whopping £1,900. Thank you to everyone who donated and supported us this year. We really appreciate it.
