In our audience insight survey on credit cards, 78% told us they own at least one credit card, with 44% owning at least two. Whilst American Express is the brand most are aware of, Barclaycard, Halifax, Tesco and Santander are the most popular in terms of ownership. Unsurprisingly, when choosing a credit card provider, lowest rate / APR is one of the most important factors influencing choice for 81%.  Easy to use mobile app and great customer service is important for 88% whilst brand reputation is important for 87%. ¾ also look for credit card providers with whom they are most likely to get approved. Following see outdoor poster advertising for credit cards, 55% are likely to go online to find out more information and almost a third are likely to go on to apply for the credit card in question. Access All Areas at Global HQ brand discovery trip

Awards season as Northern Ireland businesses celebrate

On Friday 17th October the Belfast Chamber Belfast Business Awards returned for its 10th year. Taking place at ICC Belfast, Global Northern Ireland was there to cheer on all those shortlisted for awards on the night, including the many incredible businesses within the Global sponsored, Communication Excellence Award category. Huge congratulations goes to Musgrave who took home the award on the night.  The awards don’t stop there, in a celebration of ‘The Wonderful World of Advertising’, the 16th Publicity Association Northern Ireland (PANI) Awards will take place on 20th Nov at the Culloden Estate. Global are proud sponsors of Best Cross-Format campaign within the Outdoor category and are delighted to be triple shortlisted in each of the three media owner award categories.

Belfast bucks retail trend and welcomes new stores

Belfast continues to attract an influx of new retailers and leisure brands with recent announcements from the likes of beauty giant, Sephora, and denim brand, Levis, who are set to make a return to Belfast with a new store. Recent footfall data from NI Retail Consortium also revealed Belfast faired 3rd best of all UK cities for footfall in the 5- weeks from Aug 1 to Oct 4, growing by 1.6%. This compares to a 0.5% decline for NI which still outperformed England (-1.8%), Scotland (-2.3%) and Wales (-2.5%). Further exciting developments in the city include Pull & Bear’s newly opened and expanded store, Black Sheep Coffee’s 2nd location, Tesco Express’ move into the former SSMoore sports store and King Pin’s multi-million-pound entertainment complex due to open in November.

Global N.Ireland raises over £1,350 for Make Some Noise

Global’s Make Some Noise Day returned on 10th October, and the Global NI team celebrated by committing crimes of fashion and dressing loud! From animal prints to sequins, and polka dots to tartan, our theme was Clashing Catwalk! In addition to a fun-filled, fashion rule-breaking, day, our team have been busy all year raising funds for small charities across the UK including Autonomie and ADDNI in Northern Ireland. From office events, sweepstakes, charity runs, prize raffles and more, we’ve raised over £1,350 this year!  We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us and donated.
