Launched in partnership with Global Ireland, Thinking Outside the Bus initially aimed to demonstrate that bus advertising continued to work even during a global pandemic. The findings that materialised not only evidenced the continued effectiveness of bus advertising but went further by showcasing bus advertising as a powerful means to ignite action from audiences and drive them online to further engage with brands.

The concept of the study was simple. Multiple brainteasers were displayed across various bus formats with audiences encouraged to solve the puzzles by visiting a dedicated website. All metrics including site visits, unique users, engagement levels and audience sentiment were tracked and monitored throughout.
