THE DESIGN ENGINEER WALKS AWAY FROM BRITISH RADIO’S BIGGEST ON-AIR GAME A MILLION POUNDS RICHER AFTER TENSE FINAL!
HOSTED BY HEART BREAKFAST’S JAMIE THEAKSTON AND AMANDA HOLDEN

This morning on Heart Breakfast with Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden, Heart listener Kieran Williams was crowned this year’s lucky winner of Heart’s Make Me A Millionaire, the biggest on-air game on British radio!
35-year-old Kieran from Tamworth, Staffordshire, is walking away £1,000,000 richer after a thrilling and emotional final this morning on Heart Breakfast with Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden. Kieran plans to spend some of the winnings on an AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) device to help his non-verbal autistic son, who turns 7 next week, communicate.
The nation was gripped as nine finalists took part in the tense Million Pound Final this morning before Dad of two Kieran was named the winner of the biggest prize on British radio. The tense final was broadcast live on Heart and Global Player, the official Heart app.
Over the past 12 weeks, Heart listeners have taken home cash prizes ranging from £5,000 to £50,000, with contestants opting to either walk away with the cash prize on offer that day, or to go in the Million Pound Final, with the chance of potentially winning a life-changing sum of money.
Nine finalists travelled far and wide from across the UK – including Bolton, Essex, Harrow and Edinburgh – to Heart’s studio in Leicester Square in central London with the hope that they would be the lucky individual leaving a million pounds richer.
Throughout this morning’s rollercoaster final, broadcast live on Heart Breakfast with Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden, the finalists took turns to enter ‘the vault’ where they then chose a safety deposit box – only one of which contained the cash prize of £1,000,000. All safety deposit boxes were securely sealed, checked, and kept under strict lock and key, with only the independent adjudicator aware of their contents.
Speaking about his win, Kieran said: “I am lost for words, I honestly don’t know what to say at this point, it’s crazy! You enter, you don’t expect to get the call, and the fact that it has happened – unbelievable! My son Alex has autism, and now we can pay for an AAC device for him, which is essentially a tablet that will help him communicate. Because that’s the main struggle for him, really. We’re quite fortunate that he’s a really happy, bubbly kid, and it’s just the one thing that’s a stress with him. Alex turns 7 next week, and when I got off the phone to Mark Wright, my wife Babs said the number seven to me, so the stars aligned. It’s unbelievable, this is a huge moment for our family, my daughter Ellie, my son and my wife, we’re so thrilled!”
Father of two and Design Engineer Kieran – who didn’t tell his mum and dad that he had made the final of Heart’s Make Me A Millionaire – bravely turned down £6,000 back in April and became the seventh Million Pound Finalist, and today became Britain’s newest millionaire as a result.
“What a morning! Amanda and I are absolutely delighted for Kieran who has just walked away with a life-changing £1,000,000. Heart Make Me a Millionaire is such a special and exciting moment in radio and we love being a part of the biggest on-air game on British radio.
It’s a truly special moment when we get to change people’s lives every day with our daily cash prize and when we get to crown our Heart Make Me a Millionaire winner. A huge congratulations to all our winners!”
