Global’s work to accelerate a low-carbon, sustainable future for media continues to receive industry-wide recognition. At the Campaign Ad Net Zero Awards, Global was honoured with the ‘Best Progress / Long-Term Change’ award, with judges noting how we are “setting new standards for best practice” and “fundamentally reshaping the sector.”

This recognition follows our previous ‘Best Business Transformation’ award in 2024, marking consecutive wins that reflect the depth and consistency of our sustainability strategy. Together, they highlight how Global is embedding long-term environmental progress into the way we operate, invest, and collaborate across the industry.

The Campaign Ad Net Zero Awards celebrate organisations delivering measurable, verified climate action. Global’s recognition underscores the impact of our ongoing efforts to reduce emissions across our operations, champion circular design in Outdoor, and support advertisers in transitioning to more sustainable media choices.

These achievements form part of our wider commitment to shaping a more responsible, low-carbon media ecosystem, one where innovation, accountability and partnership drive real progress for people and the planet.

Global wins Best Business Transformation at the Campaign x Ad Net Zero Awards 2024

Our Outdoor Sustainability Initiative (OSI) is a key pillar of our journey towards Net Zero. Launched in September 2023, the OSI is transforming the way we operate across our Outdoor business, ensuring that the final stage of the advertising process—the posters you see on streets, buses, and the tube—is as sustainable as possible.

The OSI is more than just a project; it’s an ever-evolving programme of transformative actions and innovations designed to decarbonise our Outdoor operations. From rethinking logistics and fulfilment to reimagining the materials we use, every step we take is aligned with internationally recognised decarbonisation standards. As a signatory of both Ad Net Zero and the UN’s Race to Zero campaign, Global is committed to transparent and accountable action, verified independently by Planet Mark.

Driving positive change means embedding a circular approach to our business. We’re proud to have set an ambitious goal to achieve a 100% recycling or reuse rate in our Outdoor warehouses by 2030. Thanks to ongoing efforts, we’ve already seen this rate skyrocket from 42% in October 2023 to 97% in May 2024—far ahead of schedule. Additionally, we’ve found recycling solutions for 87% of our products and now include recycled content in 37% of our classic products.
