Global were part of two more sustainability awards in 2025 at the UK Bus Awards and the MRW National Recycling Awards, leading the charge for reducing the environmental impact of the Outdoor industry.
Global’s commitment to circularity and low-carbon solutions has also been recognised at the UK Bus Awards, where we won Gold in the Environmental Innovation category for our breakthrough de-inking initiative, developed in partnership with Corplex.
This first-of-its-kind process removes ink from used Correx® boards so they can be washed, recycled, and remanufactured into new sheets, creating a true closed-loop recycling system for Outdoor media. The result? Less waste, lower carbon, and a new industry benchmark for circularity.
The UK Bus Awards celebrate the people and ideas shaping the future of UK transport. This year’s winners highlight the creativity and determination driving positive change across the sector, and we’re proud to contribute to that progress.
More Recognition for Circularity: Corplex Wins Big
Our partners at Corplex also celebrated significant success in November 2025, winning the Circular Economy Initiative category at the MRW National Recycling Awards for the same closed-loop system developed with Global and The Delta Group.
At the centre of their win is Corplex’s new 22,000 sq ft de-inking facility in Gloucester. Here, Global’s used bus boards are shredded, washed, and processed into high-whiteness polypropylene flakes before being re-extruded into new boards containing up to 70% recycled content – an industry first.
This innovation was also recognised at the Made in Britain Impact Awards, where Corplex was named Runner-Up for Innovation of the Year.
This innovation has also contributed to raising Global’s overall warehouse recycling rate to an impressive 92% as of May 2024. Looking ahead, our Phase 2 developments in 2025 will incorporate an advanced de-inking process, enabling us to recycle up to 70% of materials into new boards and further cut emissions. Additionally, the installation of solar panels at our recycling and printing sites will transition energy use to on-site generated renewables, amplifying our impact.
