At the end of Make Some Noise Day, Make Some Noise, the official charity of Global, the Media & Entertainment group, has raised more than £4.5 million during its annual fundraising appeal.

Kemi Rodgers (Capital), Des Clarke (Heart Scotland)

Marking its thirteenth appeal, Global presenters including Vicky Pattison, Kemi Rodgers and Des Clarke have undertaken a variety of physical challenges to inspire donations from listeners. Covering roads and rivers from Scotland to London, they’ve shed blood, sweat and tears to complete their challenges and raise money for Make Some Noise.

The money will fund vital community projects at small, local charities across the UK, delivering essential support to those facing life’s toughest challenges.

Heart’s fundraising campaign – Vicky Pattison’s Tyne to Thames Challenge – saw Vicky take on a staggering 250-mile journey across land and water. Vicky cycled, kayaked and ran from her home city of Newcastle, travelling through York, Sheffield, Nottingham and Leicester all the way down to London in just five days.

Capital’s Kemi Rodgers was put through her paces with intense military-style drills and training exercises, testing her strength, stamina and mental resilience as she prepared for a surprise final challenge – abseiling down London’s Cutty Sark, despite being terrified of heights!

Over on Heart Scotland, Breakfast host Des Clarke was joined by a team of 70 Heart Scotland listeners as he ran 13.1 miles through the streets of Glasgow to become a Heart Half Marathon Hero.

Today, on Make Some Noise Day, presenters from all of Global’s radio brands celebrated together.
