LBC has appointed Sophie Berman as Managing Editor, following the promotion of Tom Cheal to the role of Managing Director of Speech Radio at Global.

The news comes as LBC celebrates record audiences across radio and digital platforms, with its all-star presenting line-up led by Nick Ferrari and James O’Brien, enjoying continued strong RAJAR growth across the UK.

Sophie, who joined LBC as Deputy Managing Editor in March 2025, has previously held senior editorial roles at Associated PressBBC News and GB News.

The UK’s first commercial radio stationLBC continues to thrive in a multi-platform landscape, securing record-breaking RAJAR results and huge digital growth. Each week 3.7 million people across the UK tune into LBC on the radio while on YouTube and social platforms, the brand has surpassed two billion video views since January.

In her new role, Sophie will lead LBC’s continued focus in these areas, cementing the brand’s role at the heart of the national conversation.
