This week, The News Agents will release a series of special episodes, with hosts Emily Maitlis and Jon Sopel reporting from the nation’s capital, Washington DC, alongside former Trump Homeland Security Chief, Miles Taylor. Meanwhile, Lewis Goodall will take listeners and viewers to the heart of the action in Texas, bringing first-hand insight from one of the most hotly contested Senate races in the country.
On election night, Tuesday 3 November, LBC will bring listeners the latest results, expert analysis and reaction as the picture unfolds across the US, with dedicated programming throughout the night, available on LBC and streamed live on YouTube and Global Player.
LBC’s Washington Correspondent and American Week presenter Simon Marks will kick off coverage from 10pm to 1am, with The News Agents hosts Emily Maitlis and Jon Sopel in Washington DC from 1am – 5am, and Lewis Goodall with live updates from Texas.
Simon Marks will pick back up from 5am to 6am, before handing over to Nick Ferrari for a special extended four-hour breakfast show, analysing the results and what they mean for America, President Trump’s administration and the wider world.
Following election night, The News Agents USA will record a dedicated midterm election episode on Wednesday 4 October, digesting the news from overnight, with further special content coming from DC on Thursday and Friday.
