We know that being more sustainable is a journey, not a destination.

Global have been making changes to improve our sustainability credentials for over 10 years, demonstrating how environmental thinking sits at the heart of our culture. We are committed to playing our part and continuing to invest in new ideas and methods that will further reduce our environmental impact and carbon footprint and as such, enable our customers to reduce theirs.

global x jog on again

Over summer in 2025, Global’s Green employee network supported a trainer recycling campaign, Jog-on Again

    • Did you know that it can take >1000 years for a pair of trainers to degrade in landfill?
    • Did you know that manufacturing an average pair of trainers generates 13.6 kgCO2e?
    • This is equivalent to travelling 70km in an average petrol car!

As a result of this campaign, Global is pleased to share that we sent 128 pairs to Jog On Again!

Around 70% are being redistributed to disadvantaged communities whilst the remaining pairs will be recycled responsibly.

employee electric vehicles

Global are working with Tusker to offer employees a salary sacrifice scheme for vehicles used for business. So far, the partnership has enabled 49 Globallers to take advantage of the scheme to start using electric vehicles.

This will help Global reach its Net Zero target for business travel and employee commuting emissions by 2030.

lower carbon food

Getting our house in order should touch on every aspect of the business, including what we have for lunch! Working closely with Restaurant Associates, we have many initiatives in place to reduce the impact of the food we eat at work…

  • We have introduced a 50/50 burger – this is half beef, and half vegetable protein, so you still get the meaty hit, but halving the environmental impact
  • Leaning into behavioural science, we put vegan/vegetarian options at the top of the menu and make them cheaper to encourage Globallers to pick this lower-carbon option
  • Whilst we advocate for reusable water bottles, sometimes we recognise you can get caught short! So, we now sell water bottles made from sugarcane, which need less water to produce, are carbonneutral, and reusable
  • Every Thursday, our innovative chef mixes up their ‘Waste not’ salad, using delicious ingredients leftover at the end of the week to reduce food waste

earth week 2025

In April 2025, Globallers across the country were invited to partake in Earth Week. A week-long campaign run by Global’s Green employee network to continue to engage Gloabllers in all things sustainability.

We had smoothie bikes in our offices, a talk with industry veterans about sustainability in advertising, and even offered our committee’s top picks for the best environmental documentaries to watch.

global x the carbon literacy project

At Global, we believe that sustainability should be a part of everybody’s role. Using the framework from the Carbon Literacy Project, we’ve created our own tailored version: ‘Sustainability Foundations’ to give our people the knowledge, motivation and skills to act on climate change.

We’ve now trained over 100 Globallers, with the programme expanding beyond Global for the first time. On in Autumn 2025, we delivered a session to 22 participants from Global and Talon OOH.

Participants leave with Carbon Literacy Certification, and more importantly, a clearer understanding of the climate challenges we face and their role in driving positive change at work and at home.

global x vinterior

In summer 2025, Global’s Make Some Noise partnered with Vinterior - a leader in preloved, vintage and reclaimed furniture – to bring new life to homes and help the planet.

Partnerships like these help us support life-changing projects across the UK that are delivered by small charities, such as SCRATCH, who source and distribute furniture to vulnerable people and families living in poverty.

LBC’s Shelagh Fogarty spoke to Vinterior’s CEO, Sandrine Zhang Ferron, to find out more, watch here.
