Smooth Radio’s Kate Garraway is preparing for her most dramatic performance yet as she takes on five roles in five London shows in just one day – all to raise money for the radio station’s charity, Global’s Make Some Noise.

In a race against time, Kate will attempt to appear in five smash hit West End productions on Thursday 10th October. She will start her marathon challenge as a cocktail-maker in one of London’s newest shows, BIG The Musical at the Dominion Theatre, followed by an appearance as a parent in the finale of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s School of Rock The Musical. From there, Kate will dash to The Hippodrome for London’s hottest production, Magic Mike Live, before joining Joe Sugg and the cast of the romantic musical comedy Waitress at the Adelphi Theatre. Finally, Kate will take to the stage as a wedding guest in one of the West End’s most successful productions, MAMMA MIA! at the Novello Theatre.

Created by Global, the Media & Entertainment group, Global’s Make Some Noise funds projects and small charities across the UK which support disadvantaged children, young people and their families. On Friday 11th October, the day after Kate’s challenge, once again, Global will unite all its radio brands – Smooth, Classic FM, Heart, Capital, LBC, Radio X, Capital XTRA and Gold – for Global’s Make Some Noise Day, raising money to help young people living with illness, disability or lack of opportunity.

Kate presents the weekday mid-morning show (10am to 1pm) on Smooth Radio – the UK’s third largest commercial radio brand with 5.7 million weekly listeners.

“For Global’s Make Some Noise last year, I was fortunate to appear in MAMMA MIA! and I loved it. Singing, acting and dancing don’t come naturally to me – just ask my Strictly dance partner, Anton du Beke – so to take on five of London’s biggest and best-loved shows in one day is going to be a real challenge. Thank you in advance to the West End audiences for putting up with my performances!

I’m so proud to be doing this for Global’s Make Some Noise, which provides a true lifeline to thousands of young people across the UK each day. I’m also hugely grateful to the cast and crew of these five shows, for their support in raising as much money as possible. It’ll be a real team effort, for children who truly need our help the most.””
